They have no right to cash in on social justice tropes when this is the sort of person they are. Absolutely none.

I should have known.

Riley was the one who sent me death threats on livejournal when I told her to stop making genocide a pissing contest (X IS WORSE THAN Y), who told a trans woman and her girlfriend to be “thankful for their passing privilege,” who told a girl suffering from skin cancer to “be thankful [she is] white.”

The same Riley who would find people’s pictures, deem them “PoC or whitey” (no, really, and she got it wrong a lot of the time because you can’t always determine ethnicity from skin color).

Good riddance.

Yeah. They (THEY ARE NOT A SHE AND I WILL KICK THE FUCK OFF IF PEOPLE DON’T RESPECT THIS) also were taking the piss out of a girl who had severe facial deformities due to strokes, saying she looked like a proboscis monkey iirc.

But has anyone actually spoken to them about this?

Obviously I can understand people’s boundaries being “no I am not going to talk to x abusive person about x abusive thing”.

But uh.

I think they have some explaining to do, and deserve to be able to do that.

P.S If you’re dismissing the Arkh Project because of this I have very little to say to you. Dismiss it because of the weird, not particularly connected to reality pricing, or the lack of solid information on programming and other actual problems, not because one person was abusive and horrific two years ago.

I thought Riley has been quite open about the fact they used to be white-identifying, considered themselves to be ‘oreo’, etc. What’s important is that they recognised their internalised whiteness (for lack of a better word IDK what to really call it), was successfully unable to ‘unlearn’ the racist bullshit today’s white-centric society tries to impose on us, and damn sure doesn’t feel this way anymore. I personally don’t believe this post reflects “the sort of person they are”, although as a white person my thoughts on this matter will not count for much and I recognise this.

I understand that people can change…but I don’t think this person has. At least, not from my conversations with them a few months ago. They have this huge personal vendetta against asexuals and they assume that all aces middle class and white (which excludes asexuals who are PoC). They also called me white for calling this out and completely ignored everything I said, repeatedly stating that aces don’t face oppression or discrimination…even after other aces told stories of corrective rape and being fired for being ace.

So yeah, I’m not interested in what a rape apologist has to say. Especially not a rape apologist who uses race to twist it around as somehow excusable. And I’m  definitely not okay with people creating hierarchies of who has it worse or better than others, with racism at the top as the “worst” of all of them.
